I am truly honored to serve the Long Beach community and lead the dedicated men and women of the Long Beach Police Department. Our Vision is “To Provide a Safe City for all People” and we are committed to our Mission of “Public Safety through Partnerships” through our collaborative efforts with the community, non-profit organizations, city departments, and law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal levels.

I encourage you to get involved with us! Whether you want to join our team, start a Community Watch Program, volunteer or learn more about crime prevention and safety tips, this website is designed to engage our community members. Partnership is crucial to our Vision. Together we can achieve our shared goal for a safe Long Beach.

Join South Patrol Division Commander Michael Lewis for the next Community Forum on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, 6:00 p.m., to 8:00 p.m.
The three-week program will be held August 1-18, 2017, and is free to those selected to participate. Youth between the ages of 14 to 17 years old are encouraged to apply.
Applications are being accepted for an informative day of interactive training on topics such as patrol operations, laws of arrest, internal affairs, and community engagement. The 2017 dates are now available.
